The Recruitment and Employment Confederation has recently carried out a poll of its members to find out more about the impact of the Agency Worker Regulations.
The poll found that 86% of members reported that the regulations had had a 'modest impact' or 'no impact at all' on demand for agency staff. Fifteen percent reported they had had a significant impact.
In response to a question on how individual workers are responding to the regulations, 40% of respondents thought that workers were not really aware of them, and 51% said that although workers were aware of the regulations, they were 'just getting on with things'. Nine per cent however had found that workers were asking 'difficult questions' and being challenging.
The poll also revealed that 8% of respondents thought there would be an increase in tribunal claims relating to the regulations over the next six months.
